Duties and Responsibilities:

• Specialty within Dental profession
• Locate problems with positioning of teeth 
• Correct these issues with the use of braces, etc.
• Plan custom treatment plans
• Supervise and instruct orthodontic technicians and assistants 

Salary:  $196,270Education: 

• must complete a four-year undergraduate degree (bachelors degree)
• Dental School
• orthodontic specialty program

Requirements: 

• Completion of a 4 year bachelors degree 
• Completion of Dental school
• Attend a graduate program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
• Passing of the National Board Dental Examination 
• Passing of the written and clinical examinations administered by the American Board of Orthodontics

Reflection: 

     I know orthodontists primarily work with those who have braces. I do not want to become an orthodontist. It takes too much time to start practicing.
